SIM Boston Programs A MESSAGE FROM THE SIM BOSTON PRESIDENT Dear Technology Leaders, Welcome to SIM Boston, where technology leaders connect! SIM Boston is a dynamic networking organization that provides IT professionals many opportunities to connect with peers, keep current on industry trends, and advance their careers, while engaging with the dynamic, local technology community. For almost 40 years, SIM Boston has been the place CIOs and IT leaders come together to exchange thoughts, ideas, and insights. With over 400 members in the Boston chapter, SIM Boston facilitates member engagement by sponsoring more than 50 programs a year. These programs are designed to appeal to our diverse membership and strengthen our community. Programs range from our monthly meeting series; to CIO roundtables; to industry focus groups, such as the education roundtable; to SIM Women; and to our Service Desk Roundtable. Within each program we try to address today’s hottest topics and emerging trends while enabling our members to connect with others who are tackling similar challenges. All of our meetings include unstructured networking time and our online forums provide additional opportunities to make connections. In 2015, we added an annual Technology Leadership Summit to our program portfolio. This unique, locally focused conference was well received and will be repeated in September 2016 and in October 2017. This conference along with our highly touted, extremely fun, annual golf outing provides SIM Boston the opportunity to engage the vendor community. With a portion of the sponsorship funds they provide for these events, we are able to reach out and assist the larger technology community. We are proud to fund local grade school, high school, and post-high school STEM initiatives and technology focused educational programs. In 2016 we plan to give over $40,000 and dozens of volunteer hours to further these worthy causes in support of the next generation of technology leaders. Two “meet-up” style gatherings and a webinar series were added to SIM Boston’s line-up in 2016. As part of our evolution we recognize the need to continually refresh our programs based on the needs and desires of the larger IT community. Near the end of 2016 we will also be launching a mentoring program with our CIO’s volunteering to help develop the CIO’s of the future. As our tagline says, SIM Boston is where IT leaders connect. We hope you’ll engage with our vibrant, ever-changing technology community, making it even stronger than it is today. Sincerely, David T.
